Developing compassionate leaders and engaged teams.

Developing leaders & culture

Developing positive relationships sits at the heart of healthy organisations.

Steward Organisation Development believes in building kindness, fairness, openness and safety into our human relationships with leaders.

The model that makes this approach to health cultures different: working with organisations. Successfully supporting culture change means developing leaders behaviours and skills so they can lead more collectively and doing this at many different levels in the organisation. It isn’t enough to work only with the senior leaders. It also means investing in the change that allows an organisation to create a vision, and give clear direction to staff about what really matters around here, build more teamwork and more collaboration.

Developing culture in Organisations

INSPIRING CHANGE FROM WITHIN

We work alongside internal change teams as a facilitator and expert partner, encouraging the development of behaviours, analytic approaches and tools to help them guide lasting change.

Developing teams

STrong interconnected teams

Many people think of teams as people who happen to work together, but we know that creating effective teams and effective team working needs something more. We develop team leaders and whole teams to practice team working. We pay close attention to what really makes for effective, adaptive relationships: learning, support, meaning and empathy. Teams have to learn collectively to develop and maintain these norms and create the cultures of safety and trust that are a pre-requisite for a learning culture.

Developing boards

Joining the dots from ward to board

Developing team behaviours in the boardroom is important but not sufficient to oversee the development of a new culture in the organisation.

Boards need to understand collective leadership, the evidence base for their own organisation and regularly engage in conversations about what this means for their leadership.

Our Principles

To make the workplace more fulfilling & compassionate

Our work is born out of a desire to make the workplace a more fulfilling and human exchange and a frustration that silos, the pressures of healthcare and some leadership cultures separate us from each other
